Chiodini Architects, worked with Forest Park Forever, and was selected to investigate the alternatives to “upgrade Steinberg Pavilion to improve use as an all-season facility”, as stated in the Forest Park Master Plan. The upgrade is to include retaining the existing uses within the building as well as considering new internal and external uses and programming for Steinberg Pavilion to improve the opportunities for education, recreation, and entertainment. The Rink is to remain per its existing winter use, however, additional new outdoor seasonal uses are to be investigated as part of the feasibility study. In addition, the feasibility study is to consider the adjacent landscape which can be modified in support of any new programs suggested for Steinberg Pavilion. The Overall goal of the Feasibility Study is to develop an all-season space use upgrade, program, and O&M plan that is cost effective and has the potential to be funded (capital & operation), as well as, meeting the intent of the Forest Park Master Plan and subsequent relevant studies pertinent to this area of the park.
