The existing Sorority House is an historic structure that has been on campus for over 100 years and is locally known as “the Big White House on Providence;” maintaining this image, presence, and character is extremely important to the Chapter.
The program for the feasibility study includes the following:
• Increase the bed count from 75 to 90-100
• Increase bedroom size: larger closets and study areas (increase room space use efficiencies)
• Provide parking for all in-house members (90-100), plus 6 staff and 3 visitor spaces
• Develop a Main Floor Dining Room that will seat the entire chapter – 320 +/- members
• Develop a Multi-Purpose Room for chapter meetings, ceremonies, and stage; 280 +/- seats
• Informal lounge each floor
• House Mother’s Suite
