Berkeley Fire Station – Berkeley, Missouri
Chiodini Architects designed a new 6,600-square-foot fire station for the City of Berkeley after determining new construction was more cost-effective than expanding the existing facility. The station features an apparatus bay for a fire truck and two rescue vehicles, with innovative site solutions—including a retaining wall—to accommodate rear access and vehicle turning radii on the sloped site. The efficient, budget-conscious plan incorporates six bunks, kitchen/dining, lounge, fitness room, offices, and mezzanine storage, while state-of-the-art four-fold bay doors ensure faster response times and enhanced community safety
